Commercial Retail & OFFICE Spaces on Main Street
Even though the buildings comprising North Of Main are some of our older buildings, Vander Hoek Corporation operates them under the auspices of continued improvement and maintenance. Tenants of this property enjoy the rich and ever changing dynamics of the Old Bellevue shopping district and the citizens who inhabit it.
As with most of our properties, North of Main Properties is located in the heart of Old Bellevue, just west of Bellevue Way on Main Street. This property stretches for nearly an entire city block and includes 3 buildings abutting each other, starting at the northwest corner of Main Street and 103rd Avenue NE.
Comprising a total of 16,000 square feet of retail and office space, this property is currently home to 10 small businesses, including restaurants, home decor, custom furniture, jewelry, business marketing and design services and the corporate headquarters of Vander Hoek Corporation.

Brief Property History:
OLD EASTSIDE GLASS & PAINT BUILDING
Originally built in the 1930’s, the building at 10246 Main Street was the first location on Main Street for Eastside Glass Company. Some of the original businesses in this building were Contento’s Shoe Repair, a bakery, Laan’s Meat Market, and the Black Magic Tavern. The first fire station in Bellevue was located at the rear of the building along 103rd Avenue NE.
In 1946, Eastside Glass Company moved from Arie Vander Hoek’s farm in Factoria, to this building. The entry was next to the meat market leading back into the building. Over the years, Paul and Reda acquired additional properties next door, including the buildings to the west at 10220 (currently Ross & Co.) and 10230 (currently Sophisticated Swine Antiques) Main Street. These buildings were originally a bakery and the county road maintenance shop respectively. In 1964 the façade of the building was redone in two tone colored rock panels and a warehouse for the glass department was added in the NW corner. Over subsequent years, many remodels were done by JW “Doc” Carden, Al Perrault, Bob Dalton, and Steve Taylor. These remodels usually meant that more space was added for use by Eastside Glass & Paint Co. Over the years, Eastside Glass & Paint Co. added auto glass, floor coverings, and window coverings, besides shower doors and mirrors, skylights, window screens, and wallpaper.
In 1986, Eastside Glass & Paint closed its doors, after its commercial glazing department had moved to Kirkland in the early 80’s and Weathervane Window Company was started in 1984. Too much competition and the ability to rent out the building became a more profitable situation than operating a retail business.
La Cocina del Puerco Mexican Restaurant, Tera del Sol Jewelry, Ming's Asian Gallery, Bathroom Equipment Company, and Kitchen Distributors, Inc. were the first tenants to move in when the building was converted to retail rental spaces.
